CASE STUDY

West Beef regeneration

At our West Beef property in Western Australia’s central wheatbelt region, the team is overseeing a five-year project to restore salinity-affected land. Salinity is a major challenge facing WA’s farming sector, particularly in the wheatbelt. Restoring the land with native trees and bushes is the best way to combat it and reduce the saline water table – which, in time, will return the affected area to productive grazing land.

We’ve planted tens of thousands of natives – including saltbush Atriplex sp., Acacia Acuminata and a variety of Eucalyptus and Melaleuca species – across 25 hectares. This also benefits our neighbours and establishes important biodiversity and wildlife corridors.
